The First Lady of Kebbi State and the Chairperson of the State Cancer Control Programme H.E Dr Zainab Shinkafi Bagudu met with the Leadership of Cancer Control Thursday 11/08/2022. The purpose of the meeting was to interact and review the progress and challenges as well as to drive up demand for the Cervical Cancer Screening Program.

The Wife of the Kebbi State Governor, Dr Zainab Shinkafi Bagudu has once again appealed to the general public to support and cooperate with government on the measures put in place to curtail the spread of Corona Virus pandemic.

She said the current raging global Corona Virus Pandemic (COVID-19), is a wakeup call to reexamine the nation's health and educational systems.

According to her, this was sequel to the bitter lessons that were leant and were still being learnt by the country in the midst of the Corona Virus crises.

During the recent meeting of Doctors under the Nigeria Society of Neonatal Medicine, an advocacy visit was carried out to the Emir of Gwandu HRH Alhaji Muhammadu Illiyasu Bashir. The doctors were led by Dr Zainab Shinkafi Bagudu and thanked the royal father for his support on health issues whilst seeking even more support. The Emir who makes it a duty to include health issues in Friday sermons welcomed the group to the palace and stated it was his duty to improve the welfare of his people. Relevant Gifts from both sides were exchanged as usual.

As part of the 13th annual meeting of the NIgerian Society of Neonatal Medicine, members paid an advocacy visit to the Emir of Argungu, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Samaila Mohammed Mera, the 33rd Sarkin Kebbi. Leading the delegates the summit host, Dr Zainab Bagudu thanked the Emir for his hard work and support on health issues in the state such as immunization. He is also currently spearheading mosque committees designed to improve access and accountability to health solutions.
