Gov Bagudu Receives Members of the Nigerian Society of Neonatal Medicine
Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has reaffirmed his resolve to continue tackling health issues from the basics. He stated this while receiving members of the Nigerian Society of Neonatal Medicine led by the National President, Professor Chinyere Ezeaka and other child health specialists such as the President Pediatrics Association of Nigeria, Professor Austin Onoigberale.
Governor Bagudu described the conference and scientific meeting holding for the first time in the North as a boost for the state as where eminent professors from different parts of the world can brain storm on how to overcome some of the health challenges in the state.
In her remarks the wife of the Governor, Dr. Zainab Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, a consultant paediatrician and chief host of the meeting thanked the professionals for the trainings carried out on essential new born care, neonatal resuscitation and neonatal respiration. She also expressed gratitude to partners such as UNICEF Nigeria and Pathfinder for co sponsoring.
Other experts present include the President of the West African College of Physicians, Professor Ifeoma Egbona, Dr. Bose Adeniran Director Child Health from Federal Ministry of Health Nigeria, Professor William Ogala, and Dr. Badr Chaban, a consultant Neonatologist Imperial College, United Kingdom.
