Press Release: Speaker lauds Bagudu for completing road project

The Speaker, Kebbi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ismail Abdulmumin Kamba, has lauded the efforts of Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu for the completion of the 17 kilometres road project in his domain, amidst the current biting economic crunch.

The road project which spans from Dole Kaina to Tungar Rafi, in Dandi local Government area, was successfully completed and put to use by motorists, according to the Speaker, shortly after touring the road with the Governor, on Sunday.

Rt. Hon. Kamba, who was visibly elated with the visit of the Governor, to inspect the completed road project, commended Bagudu for completing one of the most important road projects in the state.

The newly constructed road, according to the Speaker, would promote both commercial and farming activities in the area.

' This road project is one important road project, which is too critical to the socioeconomic lives of the people in this area.

' The 17 kilometer road constructed at the cost of 1.4 billion naira is not costly, because, it also has 40 big culverts capable of discharging large volume of water ," he averred.

He also announced the intention of the Governor to link up the road from Tungar Rafi to Aljannare.

In his response, Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, expressed readiness of his administration to continue to be responsive to the provision of critical infrastructure, in spite of dwindling resources.

Bagudu commended the contractor for successfully completing the project according to the specifications, even with the difficult terrain of the area which lies along the river Niger axis.

He also commended the contractor for the quality job and completing the road project at the estimated cost .

Bagudu congratulated the leaders and people of the area and assured them of his readiness to extend the road from Tungar Rafi to Aljannare.

Hundreds of residents, including women and children, came out in large number to hail the Governor and his entourage as they plied the road on an inspection.

Among the important personalities who accompanied the governor were Hon. Umar Abdullahi Zimbo, House of Representatives Member for Arewa/Dandi Federal Constituency, Sarkin Shikon Kamba, Alhaji Mamuda Zarumai, District Head of Kyangakwai , Alhaji Suleiman Musa and District Head of Dole Kaina Alhaji Bello Marafa,

Others were Alhaji Sahabi Lolo, Caretaker Vice Chairman, APC Kebbi North, the Commissioner for Special Duties, Barrister Attahiru Maccido, Commissioner of Commerce and Tourism, Garba Ibrahim Geza, Alhaji Ibrahim Bawa Kamba, former Commissioner of Commerce and Chairman of Dandi Local Government Area, Garba Salihu Kamba Dila.

Earlier, the governor was in Kamba to condole with the Speaker, Kebbi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Ismail Abdulmumin Kamba over the death of Alhaji Muhammadu Dan Hajo who died last Sunday following a road accident.
