100 Million Naira Empowerment Scheme For Women
The Kebbi State government is flagging off a N100,000M empowerment scheme for women and youth on Monday 23rd July 2018. The scheme under the state Ministry of women affairs is in collaboration with Eleganza Nigeria Ltd, Procter and Gamble with banking partners Zenith Bank of Nigeria.
Women and youth cooperative groups will benefit from very low cost goods and soft loans to engage in trading. Items which will be sold directly from the manufacturers are plastic wares, always pads, safeguard soap, toothpaste, wax print, suitcases, coolers, flasks etc. 200 cooperative groups will also receive cash disbursement’s of N100,000 each. The scheme cuts across all 21 LGA and is to implemented in 3 stages.
The coordinating body of the program led by Haj Maimuna Jega have already embarked on a state-wide sensitization and education to ensure the loan is paid back and the program is revolving and sustained.
