2020 Budget Town Hall Meeting

The 2020 Budget Town Hall meeting organized by the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning was held on Thursdays 14th November, 2019 at the Presidential Banquet Hall, Birnin Kebbi. Meeting was organized to ensure participation of Kebbi State Citizens in the 2020 Budget information.

The 2020 Budget Town Hall meeting was attended by the Governor of Kebbi State, Deputy Governor, SSG, HOS, Police Commissioner, Twenty Eight (28) Permanent Secretaries, Seventeen (17) Local Government Chairmen, Twenty One (21), Head of Boards and Parastatals, Ninety Seven (97) Directors of MDAs, Twenty One (21) Directors of Budget from 21 LGAs, Fourteen (14) Traditional Rulers and Twenty Six (26) CSOs/Development Partners.

Presentation of Proposed 2020 Budget

In her presentation, the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning expressed appreciation to the invited guests for hounouring the invitation despite their tight schedules. Thereafter, she presented the highlights of 2019 Budget Performance. The 2019 Budget was in the sum of N151,462,236,238.00. Out of the total, Capital Budget was N104,384,049,818 and Recurrent Budget was N47,077,186,420. The Performance was low due to low IGR and other revenue receipts.

The 2020 Budget was prepared on the premise of increased IGR generation and proposed review of rates and charges and also new sources of revenues areas identified. The 2020 Draft Budget stands at N132,938,331,705 comprising of Capital Expenditure of N84,984,601,623 and Recurrent Expenditure of N47,953,730,082.
